My thirst for cocaine had developed and could not stay without taking the drug for long. After waking up that afternoon and sniffing some (afterwards I would wonder why I never took painkillers). I sat on my bed for a moment to endure the pain in my nasal cavity as tears flowed from my eyes. There was confusion in the air and i was afraid that someone might notice and set me up most probably ending up in jail.
I walked out of the room wearing a hood and some sun glasses for my eyes appeared to be red and swollen. One could tell that I was sick and so the glasses did good to me. Past the main cafeteria I walked heading straight to the canteen. It was a Sunday afternoon and the walk had a few students since most of them had gone out for the weekend. I would wave at those that I knew in a manner that would make them see as if am in a hurry.
In the shop the I bought credit card and a one litre soft drink. I got into the inn next to the shop bought kebab and started my way back. But I heard someone calling me, so i had to stop. The guy was a second year taking maths and computer science in the university. He was and is still known as a drug addict. I had never thought of even talking with him, but this time it was a surprise. He asked if he can spend some few minutes in my room and i could not disappoint him. He was carrying a black backpack and I could tell in it was a laptop.
my roommates had not reported back from the weekend break and so we were just the two of us. He reached his backpack and removed some cookies. He asked if I have ever been high (the effects of drugs that changes an individual character to being weird) for he saw my eyes and predicted that i was not sober. without even asking i took one of the cookies and ate. I could feel some funny taste in it but i never bothered to question him. I thought of a joke and started laughing alone. I tried to talk to him but could, only laughing. His voice to my ears was like an alien or a robot that is running out of power. Looking at the whole room I could see everything moving in a slow motion and forming different shapes. My head grew heavy and I could and longer hold it.
My phone rang and woke me up from my sleep. I could see my roommate seated, listening to music i could guess. The call was from my girlfriend. Her friend wanted some help in running some programs in the internet. I assisted her and she was good to go. After ending the call I felt guilty of even talking to her when am high. The lucky part was that she never realized. Again I looked at my roommate to make sure he wasn't seeing me. I reached my coat pocket and pulled out a chewing gum. Next to my pillow was the monthly edition, Rhapsody of Realities. I looked at it and felt a failure, so i took it and placed it under my mattress.
Outside the rain fell angrily condemning my deeds. I had failed the nature itself, my standards had gone down. Darkened.
